Teddy Bears, famous child's toy
In the year 1902, the idea for the teddy bear was formed when President Teddy Roosevelt went on a bear hunt in the Mississippi Delta. and refused to shoot a bear. The story was told in the form of political cartoons that sparked the imagination of Morris Michtom who asked his wife to create a bear to commemorate the story. The popularity of the bear led to the highly successful Ideal Novelty and Toy Company in New York, founded by Michtom around 1903.
