Dizzy Dean Sanctioned World Series Ages: 8 Levels: Allstar: 7-18 Come and watch young athletes from around the country compete in America’s national pastime sport right here in Southaven, Miss. More than 2,000 baseball teams per season journey to Snowden Grove Park for tournament play. Built in 1999 and awarded the USSSA World Series Host of the Year in 2000 and the USSSA Complex of the Year in 2008, Snowden Grove has become a Mecca for budding athletes of the diamond. Each of the 17 fields features grass infields and outfields with sub-surface drainage and computerized irrigation systems, lighting that substantially exceeds the minimum youth field requirements, electronic scoreboards and covered and enclosed dugouts. The City of Southaven, MS Parks and Recreation Department’s goal is to create an experience that players, coaches and families will remember for the rest of their lives.
